Day 3 – Imperial Power & Urban Life

  • Guided visit to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City

  • Focus on:

  • Rickshaw ride through historic hutong neighbourhoods

  • Guided discussion on everyday life and urban continuity

  • Evening Kung Fu performance

Day 4 – Belief, Ceremony & Tradition

Day 5 – Host School Project Day

  • Second full day at partner school

    How architecture reflects power and belief

  • Short student presentations

Day 6 – Revolution, Identity & the Modern State

  • Visit to the National Museum of China

  • Focus on:

    Revolution and modern Chinese identity

    Public space and political symbolism

  • Reflection and discussion session

  • Evening cultural performance
    (acrobatics, music or theatre)

Day 7 – Defence, Landscape & Reflection

  • Visit to the Great Wall of China

  • Focus on:

    Defence, labour and engineering

    Landscape and strategic design
