Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome to China’s Innovation City

  • Arrival in Shenzhen and transfer to hotel

  • Welcome briefing: Shenzhen as a global centre for innovation, robotics and technology

  • Introduction to STEM journals and team challenges

  • Evening meal and time to rest

Day 2 – Introduction to Innovation & Design Thinking

  • Visit to Shenzhen Bay Park

    Exploring how innovation shapes everyday life in Shenzhen

  • Interactive group challenges and team activities in an outdoor setting

  • Focus on:

    Problem-solving and creativity

    Teamwork and communication

    Observing how cities are designed and used

  • Introduction to key STEM themes for the programme

  • Evening at the hotel with time to relax and group activities

Day 3 – Robotics & Automation

  • Visit to Chaihuo Maker Space or a robotics innovation lab

  • Focus on:

    Sensors, movement and control

    Testing, iteration and improvement

    Real-world applications of robotics

  • Hands-on workshop: designing and building a simple robotic solution

  • Team challenge and testing session

  • Evening visit to Coco Park Shenzhen or a lively pedestrian district for Street food, lights and supervised exploration

Day 4 – Innovation & Future Technologies

  • Visit to the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum exploring:

    Emerging technologies and future innovation

    Robotics, AI and smart systems

    How technology is shaping everyday life

  • Interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences

  • Evening at the hotel

 

Day 5 – Culture, Heritage & Traditional Life

  • Visit to Nantou Ancient City exploring traditional streets, local life and street food

  • Cultural experience such as tea-making or local craft workshop

  • Visit to Dafen Oil Painting Village

  • Art, creativity and modern Chinese culture

  • Evening meal and exploration

Day 6 – Smart Technology & Green Cities

  • Exploring smart cities and sustainable urban living

  • Focus on:

    Smart living and urban technology

    AI and connected devices (age-appropriate)

    Balancing innovation with sustainability

  • Visit to Shenzhen Bay Park - a coastal walk, green spaces and urban sustainability

  • Evening at the hotel with games and group time

Day 7 – Theme Park Experience & Celebration

  • Full day at Window of the World or Splendid China Folk Village, exploring global landmarks, culture and interactive attractions

  • Fun, immersive experiences and group exploration

  • Farewell celebratory group dinner in a modern lakeside setting at OCT Harbour

Day 8 – Reflection & Departure

  • Final STEM reflections and certificates

  • Group discussion: innovation, technology and future careers

  • Programme close and transfer to airport
