Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome to China’s Innovation City

  • Arrival in Shenzhen and airport transfer

  • Welcome briefing: Shenzhen, robotics and innovation culture

  • Introduction to STEM journals and challenge teams

  • Evening meal and rest

Day 2 – Host School Exchange: STEM in Daily School Life

  • Full day at partner school

  • Joint activities with Chinese students:

    STEM class experience

    Team ice-breaker build challenge (short, fun prototype task)

  • Campus tour and informal discussion

  • Evening in hotel

Day 3 – Robotics & Automation

  • Robotics workshop or lab visit

  • Focus on:

    Sensors, movement and control

    Testing and iteration

  • Team challenge: design a robot to solve a simple real-world task

  • Evening out in a lively pedestrian district

    Street food, neon skyline, safe supervised exploration

Day 4 – Design Technology & Product Development

  • DT / maker-style workshop

  • Focus on:

    User-centred design

    Rapid prototyping and testing

  • Evening in hotel

 

Day 5 – Host School Project Day: Build, Pitch, Improve

  • Second day at partner school

  • Joint project:

    Build + test a prototype

    Short pitch: “Why this design works”

  • Student presentations and feedback

  • Evening cultural experience

    Performance or cultural show + group meal

Day 6 – Smart Tech & Future Cities

  • Visit to science/technology centre or innovation exhibition space

  • Focus on:

    Smart living

    AI and connected devices (age-appropriate)

  • Evening in hotel

Day 7 – STEM Showcase & Celebration

  • Reflection session: what makes innovation succeed?

  • Final STEM showcase and certificates

  • Farewell group dinner/ banquet to celebrate the trip

Day 8 – Departure

  • Programme close

  • Transfer to airport
